    Life

It isn’t quite as complex as I thought it was. Relationships don’t have to be difficult. Fights don’t have to be painful. And everything always works out in the end. Nothing is left open-ended. People can work well together, people can feel almost inseparable from each other, but sometimes that’s not the case. True love with a significant other is a two-way street. You can do everything in the world for someone, or you can show how you’re slowly becoming a better person, or you can try your best to help them feel what you want them to feel, what THEY want to feel. But in the end, we’re all individuals looking for something together. And as much as I may want to force someone to feel the same way I feel about them, it’s impossible. It is up to every individual to make their own decision whether something is what they want or not. They’ve got to decide for themselves, after thinking deeply, if what they have is what they need. Logic is great because it allows you to solve problems quickly. Emotions are wonderful because they allow you to feel good when things go well, or give you the negative feelings when something isn’t good enough and needs to be changed. But what everyone needs in their life is a balance. Yeah, “YOLO” may be true on a fundamental level. But if that’s the case, wouldn’t it make sense to strive for a life you can look back on and think of how wonderful it was? Which would you rather look back on in 50 years and remember, the one night stand you had, or the time you fought with every ounce of your body to try to keep something that meant everything to you? People say they live without regrets because they live a free life focused on themselves. In reality, it’s selfish, and when the time comes, all you’ll have to remember is a ton of moments that brought you instantaneous happiness. But sometimes you have to feel a little pain, you have to suffer through some hard times to break through to the glorious golden sunshine waiting for you on the other side that will radiate and keep you feeling warm and full of life until the day you die, and then perhaps even thereafter. Life is a silly thing, and no one really knows why we’re here. We try to fill our lives with gods and goals and objects. But in the end, all that matters is that we have each other and we enjoy each other for as long as we can. There really is no greater joy than what you feel from being with someone you truly love.

cult-ofpersonality asked: Hiya :) How do you like ROTC? I just got accepted into AFROTC for the fall and Im just asking around about rotc units in general so Im not completely shocked by it when I get there haha

Ahh, well AROTC is a little different than AFROTC, so it’s hard to say. In terms of how much fun you’ll have, trust me, AFROTC is the way to go. In terms of money you’ll make, once again, AFROTC. About the only benefits of going AROTC is if you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere in terms of formalities. Officers and Sergeants are much less strict on the “yes sir, no sir” or “yes sergeant, no sergeant” stuff. They’re not so strict on how your uniform looks, for the most part. The training sucks, though. You spend a lot of time in the field, compared to the cushy life of the air force. I would have done it, but army was the only ROTC program that offered full ride scholarships at my school :/

Do I enjoy it? Meh, I would have preferred to go through college without the added stress. But I won’t lie, there are times that I find myself unable to see myself doing anything else. And in the end, it’ll pay off. Regardless of branch, if you want to be in the military, or even if you just want a good way to pay for college and are willing to serve, ROTC is a great option.

I'm 20 years old, majoring in Chemical Engineering, and paying for it through ROTC. Hoo..ray...
But, life is too short to be unhappy. Go out there and make the best of it. Learn from your mistakes, and push through those of others.
